Recruitment just got Smarter
More than 100 in-house recruiters attended Recruiter’s Smart Resourcing conference, headline sponsored by Eploy, in London yesterday (28 February).
During the day, delegates from a range of companies, including Boots, McDonald’s, Invensys and Kingfisher, were able to tap into the expertise of some of the leading thinkers and practitioners within the world of resourcing.
The day began with keynote speaker John Vlastelica, managing director of Recruiting Toolbox. Making his UK speaking debut, Vlastelica talked about how in-house recruiters could transform themselves from recruiters into true leaders.
Catherine Possamai, director of internal resourcing at Capita, provided delegates with an insightful glimpse into how her team was working to become a strategic partner with the business, as well as focusing on outcomes that were important for Capita’s end clients.
Other speakers included Andy Hill, vice president talent and resourcing at Invensys, and Group Captain Ian Tolfts, the RAF’s head of recruitment. During a panel debate, the rise and rise of ‘Big Data’ and the implications for recruitment was discussed.
Speaking to Recruiter at the event, Yvonne Foster, head of resourcing at The Co-operative Banking Group, said: “It’s great to confirm that you are doing good things as well, because you can sit in a bubble and not look outside at what is happening in other organisations. But also it allows you to explore where you can work harder.”
At the end of the conference, delegates were joined by around 150 recruiters at an event to celebrate their success in being shortlisted for Recruiter’s Awards for Excellence, headline sponsored by Eploy.
Also speaking to Recruiter, Zoe Lewis, head of resourcing at Methods Consulting, who is shortlisted for Agency Recruiter of the Year, said: “It’s very exciting to be recognised within the industry as a credible professional service provider. I look forward to a fun evening in May and getting our name in lights.”
Tables are going quickly for this year’s event at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on 1 May, so make your booking soon!
