Business consultants to the search and recruitment industry, ALC Group, has launched a new service that its co-founder says is an alternative to traditional search.

Tim Connolly tells Recruiter that the launch of the company’s Competitive Intelligence Report is a response to companies’ reluctance to retain search firms on the basis of the traditional payment model – a third (on being signed-up), a third (at the shortlisting stage) and a third (on placement).
Connolly says the report provides clients with “a full market report that maps everybody in the market”, giving them greater transparency and control than a shortlist of five or six candidates.
He says he hopes the new service will have an appeal beyond the company’s existing client base of life science and energy sector staffing companies, and that it will generate 50% of its revenue within 12 months.
