Adecco returns to Northumberland town after recession retreat

Recruitment giant Adecco has re-opened its office in the Northumberland town of Cramlington after being “forced to close… and move to Newcastle when the recession hit in 2008”, according to local newspaper News Post Leader.

The paper says the decision to re-open came after an increase in employment seen over the last year.
Branch manager Mike Kumar says: “As we are situated next to the new development at Manor Walks [recently-opened shopping centre], you can feel that there are going to be some good changes within the area that will hopefully bring in more investment and with this new jobs.”
Cramlington has a population of more than 30,000 and is 10 miles North of Newcastle. Adecco has 120 branches and a client base of over 33,000 firms in the UK, and over 5,700 branches in more than 60 countries.
