Wed, 11 Sep 2013Legal recruiter Shilton Sharpe Quarry (SSQ) has opened offices in Beijing and Shanghai to service the Chinese recruitment market.
SSQ was the top-ranked firm in the 2012 Recruiter HOT 100, sponsored by Microdec, listing the UK recruitment firms with the greatest gross profit per employee.
Co-founder and chief executive officer Nick Shilton tells recruiter.co.uk that while the Beijing office is the Chinese HQ or lead location, “both centres are important. If you’re going to be credible you need to be in both [locations]”.
Shilton told recruiter.co.uk in December last year that SSQ planned to expand into Mainland China and Singapore in 2013, and now says the Singapore office should be up and running in either Q4 this year or Q1 2014.
The Chinese operations are being led by senior manager Shawn Chen, who joined the firm in July. He came to SSQ after four years with legal recruiter Tully in China.
