The Singaporean employment rate rose to a record high of 79% in the year ending 31 March, with a more skilled workforce meaning a higher proportion of people in professional, managerial and executive level jobs.

New statistics from the Ministry of Manpower’s ‘Singapore Workforce 2013’ report also finds that more women and older residents came into the labour market during the year.
The survey also shows that real median income has increased by 1.9% since 2008.
A full report of the findings will be published in the ‘Labour Force in Singapore, 2013’ report on 29 January 2014, the ministry says.
