US recruiter On Assignment acquires two firms

Multi-brand US recruiter On Assignment has acquired recruitment firms CyberCoders Holdings and Whitaker Medical.

Permanent recruiter CyberCoders, who place middle and senior-level professionals in the IT, healthcare and life sciences sectors, was acquired for $94m (£57.5m), with a possible extra $11m to be paid based on performance. Its estimated 2013 revenues are $55m. It has four offices, in Boston, Los Angeles, New York and headquarters in Irvine, California.
Whitaker Medical is a physician staffing business in Houston, and estimated revenues for this year are $27m. It was bought for $17.1m, again with $5m to be paid based on performance.
On Assignment made revenues of $1.24bn in 2012, up more than double since 2011 thanks in part to substantial acquisitions.
