Mon, 13 Jan 2014Oil & gas, technical and engineering recruiters performed strongly in this year’s FAST 50, the 50 fastest-growing private recruitment companies, prepared by Boxington Corporate Finance and sponsored by ICS.

As recruiter.co.uk reveals today, these companies make up 18% of the FAST 50 list.

In the second of our series of sector breakouts ranking the growth performance of FAST 50 companies, Mark Kingston, assistant director at Boxington, tells Recruiter this group of staffing companies is benefitting from “continuous skill shortages”.

Oil & gas, technical and engineering recruitment companies in the FAST 50 2014:

1. Serocor Holdings
2. First Point Group
3. First Recruitment Group
4. Fircroft Engineering Services
5. Omega Resource Group
6. Air Energi
7. Strategic Resources
8. Orion
9. Mentor IMC

“There are continuous skill shortages worldwide in the oil & gas energy sectors,” says Kingston.

“Many FAST 50 firms [in these sectors] are experiencing growth in rapidly expanding new markets, such as in South America and pockets of Asia.” Kingston adds that their strong growth performance comes despite “some signs of softening in parts of the Australian commodity markets”.

Kingston adds that despite client pressure against the sort of 20%-30% margins enjoyed by recruiters in these sectors that is pushing clients towards using RPOs, “they are still achieving impressive growth rates”.
