Global recruiter Hays unveiled plans to hire up to 200 consultants across its UK and Ireland business this year, its biggest recruitment drive since 2007.
The company employed 5,150 consultants globally last year, a 2% rise on the 2012’s figure, with just over 2,000 based in the UK and Ireland.
An additional 200 staff would increase the headcount in the company’s UK and Ireland division by 10%.
Alistair Cox, Hays chief executive, said: “I feel more positive about the UK than I ever have since joining Hays in 2007.”
As Recruiter reported yesterday, Hays announced strong profit growth for the six months to 31 December 2013, experiencing an 11% rise to £66.7m.
