Wed, 12 Mar 2014 Staffing companies make up seven of this year’s Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work for, with Milton Keynes-based multi-disciplinary healthcare recruiter ID Medical the highest placed staffing company, in 33rd position overall.

This year’s recruitment industry representation of seven compares with 10 in 2013's list.

ID Medical is the top ranked recruiter among companies that employ between 249 and 4,999 staff. The Milton Keynes-based medical recruiter also ranked third in Recruiter’s 2014 FAST 50 rankings, produced in association with mergers & acquisitions advisers Boxington Corporate Finance.

The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For is compiled for The Sunday Times by work engagement specialist Best Companies.

ID Medical was ranked 7th for personal growth of its staff, with the company spending the equivalent of £3,080 per person on staff development in the year to the end of August 2013, according to the company information on The Sunday Times site.

Deenu Patel, managing director of ID Medical, says: “Our employees are supporting doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and clerical staff in fulfilling their career ambitions within the NHS and private medical sectors, while ultimately improving the quality of patient care. Meaningful purpose is firmly rooted within our positive and ‘family-feel’ culture, and that is what I believe to be one of the key fundamentals of being a great company to work for.

“ID Medical provides real opportunities for career advancement; we support and reward excellence, whilst giving each employee within the business autonomy to drive the business forward.”

ID Medical is joined in The Sunday Times list by fellow new entrant, Blue Arrow Group. Randstad Construction, Property & Engineering, Search Consultancy and Pertemps Recruitment all improve their rankings from 2013.

Earlier this week, we reported that recruiters made up one in five companies in The Sunday Times Best 100 Best Companies to Work for.

Grahame Caswell, chief executive officer of Search Consultancy, says: “To be listed alongside the cream of Britain’s motivated workforces for the third year in a row is a tremendous honour and is testament to the hard work of the management and employees alike.

“We pride ourselves in our dynamic working environment where staff development and fulfilment are at the top of the agenda.”
