Tue, 19 Apr 2014Staff and clients of multi-sector recruiter Anne Corder Recruitment have donated more than 150 items of office wear and accessories to support international charity Smart Works, which offers practical help to out-of-work women.
Smart Works dresses more than 1,200 women a year in complete interview outfits donated entirely by other business women. Professional stylists help to pull together outfits, while senior executives offer personal interview training for those who are returning to the workplace after a long spell.
This was the second time Anne Corder had hosted a suit drive for the charity.
“Smart Works is a fantastic cause as it not only helps women look the part, but feel the part too. The campaign is as much about boosting confidence as it is about donating clothes, so we’re thrilled to be able to contribute," says recruitment partner Karen Dykes in a company statement.
The 150-plus donations from Peterborough will now be available through Smart Works to women on low incomes who are taking their first steps back into the workplace. The drive was launched in February.
