Technical recruiter Penta Consulting and energy recruiter Spencer Ogden are being recognised for outstanding business achievement with one of the UK’s top honours, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2014.
Both Penta and Spencer Ogden earned the awards for international trade.
Penta, winner of the 2013 Recruiter Award for Best International Recruitment Agency, has penetrated 120 countries through its export marketing strategy. New markets entered last year include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, South Africa and Dubai.
Its Queen’s Award was earned for outstanding growth in overseas sales earnings over the last three years, according to the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). This marks the second time Penta has been recognised in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise; the first time was 2006.
Spencer Ogden has eight overseas offices, and earned its recognition for having grown overseas sales earnings by 1,025% over the last three years and growing exports as a percentage of total turnover from 23% to 54%, BIS said.
The BIS statement went on to point out the company’s method of mitigating the threat of fluctuations in foreign currency to its international business. BIS said Spencer Ogden “invoice discounts as well as currency hedges, all from a centralised invoicing centre that has been key in managing its financial systems as it has grown exponentially”.
