Specialist bathroom retailer bathstore has, after a nationwide search, appointed a ‘bathroom executive officer’ (BEO) to ensure its baths are completely comfortable and inspire relaxation.
bathstore placed job adverts in national media publications, and found its BEO in the form of Sam Collins, a 20-year-old law student, who beat hundreds of other applicants thanks to his extreme love of bathing.
Each potential candidate was asked to document in 400 words why they loved baths so much, and what 'relaxing qualities' they would bring to the role.
Additional requirements for the position included that the individual should have taken a minimum of 3,000 baths, and have personable qualities that mirrored their approach to bathing.
As bathstore’s BEO, Collins will be in this position for 12 months, having six baths installed and uninstalled in total, one every two months and will have to write reports on each bath, which will then be used for future product development. This is a paid position, with Sam now officially employed by bathstore.
bathstore chief marketing officer Claire Bayliss commented on Collins' appointment, "When we read Sam's letter and interviewed him, it was clear he was the BEO for us. Sam is as passionate about his love of all things bathing as we are."
