Employers to increase permanent workforce, says REC survey

The majority of employers (85%) plan to increase their permanent workforce in the short term – the highest proportion since records began – according to research conducted by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

The organisation’s Jobs Outlook survey published today also showed that 30% of employers say they rely on agency workers to reduce costs, compared with 69% stating the same last year. In addition, four in 10 (42%) of employers plan to increase agency worker use in the next quarter.
