A best practice quality standard for social work recruitment firms has been launched.

The standard, developed by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), aims to set an industry-wide standard for providing high quality staff, and the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

It was created following consultation with APSCo social work sector group members and other stakeholders including the British Association of Social Workers, the Health and Care Professions Council, the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation, representative managed service providers and leading London Boroughs and city councils.

It will be available from 1 August.
