Thu, 7 Aug 2014Air Energi Group, the global workforce solutions provider for the oil & gas industry, has expanded its reach in the Asia Pacific region with the acquisition of South Korean company Kitco.

The integration with Kitco, a supplier of manpower, training, accommodation and procurement services, will be led by its chief executive Won Seong Choi.

The new entity will be known as Air Energi Kitco.

A statement released on behalf of the company said the North-East Asian country’s shipyards account for 48% of the global offshore shipbuilding market by value with every floating liquefied natural gas project worldwide scheduled for manufacture in the country.

Air Energi Kitco, which already supports more than 600 oil & gas professionals, will provide local and expatriate staff.

“Many of Air Energi’s existing and target clientele are managing significant construction and fabrication projects out of South Korea for the foreseeable future,” Air Energi group CEO Duncan Gregson said in a press statement.

The statement said the integration establishes the only provider of end-to-end workforce solutions for both local and expatriate manpower in South Korea.

It also provides Air Energi with a springboard for further expansion into North Asia.
