Only 26% of recruitment and headhunting firms use business intelligence and credit checking tools to check CVs are accurate, according to research from company credit reports Creditsafe.

The job roles with the highest number of discrepancies were chief marketing officers, heads of sales, chief executive officers and chief financial officers, according to feedback from customers that used Creditsafe’s system.

Checks run by the firm have exposed issues with candidates applying for C-level positions, as well as a candidate who claimed to run a marketing budget that was higher that the company’s entire turnover.
