The move made by the Wilton-based firm, which makes products used in the manufacture of plastic drinks bottles, CDs and car interiors, is also set to create hundreds of temporary jobs during construction.
Sabric told the BBC that it was “capitalising” on the shale gas revolution in the US by upgrading its facilities to use shale gas-based feedstock.
The Teeside plant’s upgrade will improve processes used in the production of raw materials.
Recruiter contacted Sabric UK but no response was given in time for the deadline.
