Foreign business leaders operating in West Africa have called for greater international support to tackle Ebola, according to a report in the Financial Times.

It was reported that the statement made by 11 chief executives said that the worst affected areas – Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone – needed “the immediate opening of humanitarian and economic corridors”.
Signatories included Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of steelmaker ArcelorMittal, Marl Bristow, chief executive of mining firm Randgold Resources. The statement comes at a time when the UK and the US have announced military support to combat the outbreak.
Recruiter spoke to a number of recruitment firms operating in West Africa for this month's edition of the magazine. As reported, many companies were banning travel to and within West Africa, and postponing plans to recruit staff in Liberia and Guinea.
