Magellan Aerospace creates 47 jobs in Northern Ireland

Magellan Aerospace is investing almost £6m in its operations in Northern Ireland and creating 47 advanced manufacturing jobs.

The Canadian-owned business, which supplies products to the likes of Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, GKN and Spirit AeroSystems, has a site in Greyabbey in County Down and currently employs 109 people in the region.
It has had a presence in Northern Ireland since 2012 when it acquired local firm John Huddleston Engineering.
In a press statement, enterprise, trade and investment minister Arlene Foster said that the investment involved the construction of a new specialised assembly facility and additional advanced machining technology. The 47 jobs are expected to be put in place over the next four years.
The Northern Ireland Assembly is working to double revenues from aerospace, defence, security and space to more than £2bn a year over the next 10 years.
