Mon, 1 Sep 2014The majority (77%) of contractors would like to work abroad, according to research carried out by international recruiter Procorre.

More than half (55%) of those surveyed cited higher take-home pay as one of the top reasons for wanting to move abroad. A better work-life balance was cited by 52%, while 44% simply wanted to experience working and living abroad.

However, security risks were of concern to 52% of contractors, while 30% were worried about their family not wanting to relocate. Meanwhile, 27% of contractors were worried about leaving family and friends behind.

In a statement Lisa Mangan, relationship manager at Procorre, said: “Tax benefits and higher salaries are a real temptation for contractors that are considering working abroad.

“However, the attractive benefits packages and greater take-home pay are often there to entice contractors to remote or even dangerous locations.”
