A recruitment consultant from Networkers International is soon to star in a US reality TV show.
Van Phan, an account director at the firm, was picked from 3,000 applicants to appear in the show Top Recruiter, which attracts over 4m viewers online.
Last year, Jobsite’s founder Keith Potts was a judge for the second season of the show.
The show aims to gives viewers a candid insight into the recruitment industry and promises to offer drama, glamour, tears and a taste of what it’s like to work in a competitive environment.
During the filming of the show, Dallas-based Phan will share a house with other recruiters. In the style of the BBC show The Apprentice, the housemates will be set different recruitment challenges.
The contestants are then asked to nominate their least favourite housemate and after each episode the public will vote for their choice. The recruiter with highest number of public votes will get the chance to defend their title in the next series.
In a press statement, Phan said: “Competition is the nature of recruitment, and as such, recruiters tend to hold their cards close to their chest. There are very few opportunities to swap tricks of the trade or to learn new ways of recruiting. Despite being out of my comfort zone, my main motivation for being on the show was to learn new methods of recruiting so that I could bring them back to Networkers and implement them in my day job.”
