A man who allegedly stole £25k off former Gurkha soldiers after offering them fake jobs has appeared in court, the Northampton Chronicle and Echo reported yesterday [15 October].

A man who allegedly stole £25k off former Gurkha soldiers after offering them fake jobs has appeared in court, the Northampton Chronicle and Echo reported yesterday [15 October].
The publication reported Sandeep Gurung, himself a former Gurkha (Nepalese) soldier, appeared in the Northampton Magistrates Court charged with 22 counts of fraud and one of money laundering.
Gurung allegedly befriended former Gurkha soldiers and offered them non-existent UK-based security jobs for the Sultan of Brunei.
He offered no plea to any of the charges.
He will appear at Northampton Crown Court later this month for a plea and case management hearing.
