Fri, 16 Jan 2015International headwinds have significantly reduced the number of engineering recruiters in the Recruiter FAST 50 2015 compared to previous years, says Tim Evans, managing director of Boxington Corporate Finance, compilers of the FAST 50, which lists the fastest-growing private staffing companies in the UK.
The full Recruiter FAST 50 list will be published in the February issue of Recruiter magazine, which will land on desks next week.
The 2015 FAST 50 report is sponsored by Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance.
Referring to the absence of large international engineering recruiters that have appeared regularly in previous FAST 50s, Evans says that geo-political instability in Russia linked to the situation in the Ukraine and economic weakness in Europe and Asia-Pacific both have “hurt a lot of engineering”.
Mark Kingston, assistant director of Boxington Corporate Finance, adds: “The energy market in Australia, which is closely linked with engineering, has really slowed down.” Kingston notes the increased presence of UK domestically-focused recruiters, such as JAM Recruitment, in this year’s FAST 50.
