Tue, 13 Jan 2015Global recruiter Michael Page expects to increase headcount by 12% in 2015, according to chief executive Steve Ingham.
The increase would match 2014’s record rise in headcount, a year in which 468 fee earners joined the business. Michael Page currently employs 4,278 fee earners across its network.
The group’s Q4 and full-year 2014 trading update, published today [13 January], reveals full-year group gross profit (GP) of £532.7m, delivering constant currency growth of 10%.
In the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region GP rose to £55m in Q4 2014 compared with £52m on the same period in the previous year, while the UK saw GP grow to £35.4m from £31.9m in the period.
Meanwhile, Asia Pacific recorded GP growth of £26.2m in the quarter, compared with £24.2m in Q4 2013, while the Americas witnessed growth of £19.6m, up from £17m in Q4 2013.
CEO Ingham told Recruiter the group’s further plans for growth would see it increase headcount but no further office openings are planned for 2015.
“I would say a similar level of headcount increase to last year would be my best guestimate for this year.
“This year it’s about adding headcount into existing offices,” he added.
“It will be where we’re growing fastest so it will be those fastest growing markets like China, South-East Asia, Latin America, the US, and probably the lower level Page Personnel business in France, Germany and the UK, and some in Southern Europe where we’re growing at 27%.”
