More hours for agency workers in Europe

The number of hours worked by agency workers across Europe increased by 4.6% in February 2015, compared with the same month last year, according to Eurociett, the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies.

The number of hours worked by agency workers across Europe increased by 4.6% in February 2015, compared with the same month last year, according to Eurociett, the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies.
Of the countries providing data to Eurociett’s Agency Work Business Indicator, year-on-year growth was strongest in Italy (15.7%), Poland (15.6%), Denmark (14.7%), Belgium (11.8%) and the Netherlands (11.0%).
Year-on-year growth was more subdued in Germany (3.1%) and France (1.5%).
However, two countries saw the number of hours worked by agency workers fall year-on-year – Norway (-0.8%) and Switzerland (-7.9%).
