Lucy Stanistreet has discarded a career in law to remain in recruitment, following her recent promotion to associate director from senior consultant at MIT Recruitment.

Stanistreet previously worked at the rec-to-rec agency between 2007 and 2008 as a consultant but left to join equipment hire firm Speedy Hire in sales support before rejoining MIT in 2009.

She told Recruiter over the past two and a half years her part-time career in recruitment had helped support her during her studies.

“I did two and a half years of a law degree and decided after a conversation with Claire [Walsh], our director, actually I wanted to stay within the business.

“I was dead set on moving into legal until very recently – I love it here and I’ll never earn as much money in legal as I earn in recruitment.”
