Recruitment consultancy director for Calibre Search Simon Owen has been elected vice chairman of The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in the Yorkshire region.

According to a statement by the company, Owen has been an active participant in CIBSE’s regional events for more than eight years despite not being an engineer. He was invited to join the committee in 2012.

He will be vice chairman for the next year, before stepping up as chairman for a further two years, at which point he will revert to vice chairman in support of the next incoming chair.
