Ciett, the international confederation of private employment agencies, has adopted a new code of conduct.
A Ciett statement said the rules and common values to be shared by member organisations “has been revised in order to better reflect ongoing efforts on fair recruitment at the international level”.
The reach of the code’s 10 key principles has been widened to not just apply to Ciett members but to private employment services in general.
Language of some of the principles has been revised, particularly around prohibition of forced labour and not charging jobseekers fees.
