Legal recruiter Laurence Simons has appointed Clare Butler as global managing director to oversee the firm’s global operations.

Succeeding Naveen Tuli, Butler will report into Mark Carriban, chief executive of Laurence Simons’ parent company FiveTen Group.

She joins from Article One Partners, a global intellectual property (IP) research community, where she was general manager of Europe and Asia. Starting her career as a legal adviser for the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), she then joined IP management and software specialists CPA Global, working her way to vice-president and head of strategy and development.
