Ardent4, a recruiter specialising in facilities management and construction, has been launched in Birmingham.

The firm, supported by Cordant Recruitment, is led by managing director Alex Sutherland, who most recently worked for recruiter PSR Solutions as head of facilities management.

Cordant Group, parent company of Cordant Recruitment, also includes a facilities management division but Sutherland told Recruiter he was “certainly not” brought on board to set up an internal recruitment team.

The group will be a key client, however.

He added he plans to grow the Birmingham business to a headcount of 10 by the end of the year and open in London imminently. Within five years, he plans for a headcount of 50 and then will look to set up international offices, particularly in the Middle East where the facilities management industry has “huge growth potential”.

Ardent4 recruits for both permanent and contract roles.

Joining Sutherland are recruitment consultants Patrick Farrelly and Joe Madden, both formerly The FM Network consultants. Sutherland founded The FM Network.
