Uncertainty continues over extension of IR35 off-payroll rules

The government’s decision not to go ahead with controversial changes to IR35 legislation that had been anticipated would be included in yesterday’s Budget has been widely welcomed across the sector.

However, the sector looks set for a further period of uncertainty, while differences of opinion have emerged over whether it is only a matter of time, with some saying changes to the rules are inevitable. 

It had been expected that Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond would take the opportunity to extend changes to IR35 ‘off-payroll rules’...
