NEW TO THE MARKET: 14-18 MAY 2018

This week’s launches include: LGBT Great, LinkedIn, Vettery
• LGBT Great, created by Matt Cameron of recruitment and inclusion consultancy The Ocean Partnership, has launched an LGBT+ study examining the experiences of 100 LGBT+ individuals working within the investment industry.
Cameron launched LGBT Great at the end of last year. It aims to drive LGBT+ talent diversity and inclusion across the sector and across the global industry network. This study has been developed in partnership with LGBT Capital which is the first specialist investment firm focused exclusively on the LGBT market.
The study was commissioned as a result of the perceived lack of diversity in the investment industry and because of the fact that many firms are simply overlooking LGBT+ inclusion. In addition, the study examines the perspectives of 100 LGBT+ individuals who are currently working within the sector and is designed to provide useful insights to both investment firms and LGBT+ and individual allies.
The study concluded that that investment firms need to do more for LGBT+ talent and established five insights:
- Banter is the number one concern for LGBT+ individuals.
- LGBT+ policy formation and implementation is important.
- There is a lack of LGBT+ visibility and in particular role models and networks.
- LGBT+ inclusion matters in talent attraction and retention.
- LGBT+ inclusion is very important to people aged 25-44.
• Professional network LinkedIn is launching two new product features. They are: How You Match, which shows members how they measure up to the experience needed for a specific job; and 1-Click Apply, giving jobseekers the option to save contact information, including a CV, so candidates can apply for a role with a single click.
• Adecco-owned US digital recruitment start-up Vettery has launched in the UK. The platform aims to change the way people are hired by eliminating the need for third-party recruiters.
The firm, which was acquired by recruitment giant Adecco for $100m (£73m) earlier this year, says 150 businesses are already using its platform, including Vodafone, Bet Fair, Seedrs, Zopa, Lyst and Paddle.
