GLAA appoints Michael Rich as chief executive

Michael Rich (pictured), an executive director at Chesterfield Borough Council in Derbyshire, has been appointed as the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority’s new chief executive. He takes up his new role in January, the GLAA has announced.

His previous experience includes four years with the Homes and Communities Agency that funds government housing programmes.  

In a related development, Margaret Beels, who has been the organisation’s chair since 2011, has been appointed to the position for an additional two years following a competitive recruitment process.
