Britain had recruiter talent back in the early days of BGT

With Britain’s Got Talent currently entertaining viewers in its 13th season, Recruiter has uncovered yet another recruiter to have appeared on the TV talent show.

Last summer, Recruiter revealed Joanne Davies, now a divisional manager at Midlands based agency Agenda Partnership, appeared as a dancer in The Addict Initiative – even making it to the ITV show’s final in 2014.

But it turns out the sector can boast about an even earlier contestant on the show.

Neil Ellerton, a geotechnical engineering recruitment specialist at Penguin Recruitment, appeared on one of the very first seasons of Britain’s Got Talent.

Ellerton told Recruiter: “It was a long, long time ago. It was just singing and playing the guitar… It was 2007 or 2008 – I can’t remember really.

“It was a bit of a strange one. I dropped out after a little while – my work commitments were too much.”

While Ellerton wasn’t working in recruitment at the time of his audition, he advises any talented recruiters thinking of going on the show to give it a go.

“It’s always worth it… I always had something back in my mind that I wanted to do it. For me, it’s all about not leaving anything to regret. So, if you want to do it – do it.”
