Nuclear engineering firm on recruitment drive in UK

One of the world’s largest nuclear engineering companies has launched a recruitment drive to fill 400 roles in the UK.

In a statement, released this morning, Blackburn-headquartered Assystem revealed its recruitment drive is aimed at filling roles in the emerging EDF nuclear power plant, Hinkley Point C, where staff are needed immediately.

Assystem has roles ranging from graduate level to highly experienced. The main areas of focus are quality assurance, quality lead, manufacturing surveillance, project administration, doc control and audit programme co-ordination among others. The firm adds that from autumn 2019 onwards it will also be looking for commissioning engineers.

And while technical ability is the key factor for new hires, Assystem says it is particularly interested in finding candidates with a broad range of skills, especially interpersonal skills, that will drive good relationships both inside and outside of the company, along with leadership attributes such as motivation, enthusiasm and empathy.
