Pizza delivery chain seeks vegan specialist

Pizza delivery chain Papa John’s is recruiting for a ‘chief vegan officer’ following the launch of its vegan menu this year.

The CVO will be charged with helping to develop vegan dishes that will appeal to meat-eaters and veggie-lovers alike. The successful candidate will trial new offerings yet to be released, including the chain’s ‘buffalo cauliflower wings’, which are being added to the menu to coincide with #NationalVeganDay on 1 November.

The successful candidate will report to the head of research and development at Papa John’s, and will need:

• A food technology background
• A genuine passion for vegan food and trends 
• A food science degree or similar 
• To be a self-starter, curious and eager to help Papa John’s develop new vegan innovations
• Excellent communication skills.  

Preferred but non-essential qualities include:

• Having been a vegan for the past 18 months 
• Being a frequent user of #Vegan on their personal social accounts 
• The ability to remove an avocado stone in less than 60 seconds.
