Private equity firm invests millions in Caroo platform

Manchester-based recruitment platform Caroo has received a multi-million pound investment from Optimise Capital.

The platform matches relevant candidates with employers based on skills and experience, rather than job titles as typically used by job boards. It has completed several rounds of Beta testing with brands including adidas, the Co-Op and retailers Boohoo and Missguided, a company statement said.

It has plotted a nine-month expansion plan to roll out across the UK.

Optimise Capital, a Wilmslow-based private equity business, has invested £2m in Caroo to date, with a planned £5m annual investment to attract employer and candidate users. Caroo said the marketing investment will include using a 55-seat outbound B2B call centre, to market to the 500,000 UK-based businesses with five or more employees.
