Yorkshire face mask manufacturer grows team to cope with demand

Although there has been worrying news today about rising UK unemployment stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic between May and July, the health crisis is creating new jobs at a Yorkshire manufacturer.

Bluetree Group, which specialises in printing, has secured a contract to provide the NHS with a supply of masks, and is increasing its headcount to keep up with demand, according to the Bdaily newsletter.

“Roles we’re recruiting for include machine operators, engineers, lab technicians and logistics professionals,” Bluetree director Adam Carnell told Bdaily. “Our priority is ensuring those who need these items the most get them, and we look forward to growing our exceptional team.”

The company diversified its business in March following an appeal from the World Health Organisation (WHO), which called on the manufacturing industry to help increase face mask production by 40%.
