Short is shadowing current CEO Mike Smith (right) in the role for the next four months, after which time Smith takes the helm as global CEO for Randstad Sourceright, based in the US.

Short joined Randstad 23 years ago this month. Her experience has ranged across business solutions, education, healthcare, student support, logistics, FMCG and engineering, culminating in her role as MD for public services since 2016. 

Speaking about her appointment, Short said: “I never expected when I set out 23 years ago as a wide-eyed consultant to be leading a business with over 1,000 people in it…

Short will report to executive board member, Rebecca Henderson.
