Napping study seeks sleep-loving applicants

Want to be paid for sleeping?

A company that provides guides to sleep equipment is offering five people anywhere in the world the opportunity to get paid to nap.

Eachnight.com will pay $1,500 (about £1,077) to the five people to become ‘nap reviewers’ and test theories behind the pros and cons of taking short sleep breaks.

A statement from eachnight.com said: “The team of ‘nap reviewers’ will need to be prepared to start work straight away, as well as being committed to napping every day for 30 days. Applicants must be able to sleep alone during the testing period to ensure that they are undisturbed.”

Applicants, who must be over 18 years old, must also have strong English writing skills to be able to accurately carry out reviews of their naps “and follow any relevant instructions”, the statement said.

Over the course of 30 days, the participants will be required to take part in a variety of experiments to test out a number of theories, such as the optimum nap length for feeling refreshed, the effects on overall levels of fatigue and the effects of napping on memory, motivation and productivity.

The nappers will take part in a video call before and each experience to ensure they understand their tasks fully, and to complete a verbal questionnaire detailing their experiences and results.

Payment will be made at the end of the testing period.
