Warren Partners announces new MD

John Mathieson has been appointed managing director of board advisory and executive search consultancy Warren Partners. He joins from marketing communication business Dentsu, where he was chief operating officer of Dentsu Aegis Network North.

A company statement said that after more than 10 years as managing partner and having transitioned the business to employee ownership, Victoria Gee is now focusing her time on the growth of Warren Partners’ technology and digital practice.

Mathieson will work closely with founder Joëlle Warren, executive chair Ian Durant (NED) who chairs the Warren Partners Employee Ownership Trust Board (EOT) and Gee, who remains on the Board.

Founded by Warren in 1999, Warren Partners is an employee-owned, purpose-led executive search firm. Since the Hampton-Alexander Review was launched in 2015, Warren Partners has been accredited every year as a British firm that appoints more women than most to its board and is one that is also working to improve the gender balance at the top under the Enhanced Code of Conduct.

The Partners are also supporting the CBI’s Change the Race Ratio, a campaign to increase racial and ethnic participation in British businesses. The firm is recognised for taking an active role in shaping broader diversity guidelines for the recruitment industry.
