CitySprint recruits 600 couriers, carwow headhunts 50

UK same day distribution company CitySprint is looking for an extra 600 couriers, with the business focusing primarily on couriers with small and large vans.

The new couriers will join CitySprint’s 3,500 vans, bikes and cars to help ease the increased demands on the delivery network, in particular, the company’s high-growth retail and healthcare segments.

This recruitment drive is in response to a significant uplift in logistics requirements, especially in the London area.

Elsewhere, UK car buying and selling marketplace carwow is recruiting for 50 roles at its new Bournemouth office. This follows the acquisition of digital car selling service Wizzle, now called Wizzle from carwow, which was created by local entrepreneur Sebastien Duval.

With major demand and rising used car values, Wizzle from carwow, which allows car owners to sell their used cars directly to professional dealers, has more than doubled the number of cars listed on its platform at any one time.

With the number of people listing their used cars for sale each day trebling, according to a company statement, this is fuelling the recruitment plans for 50 new roles including lead handlers, account managers, operations, and a raft of programming and software roles based from the new carwow office in Bournemouth.
