Sammons acquires two recruitment businesses in South-East

Sammons Recruitment Group has acquired IT recruitment experts Brightred Resourcing and Hampshire-based generalist recruitment consultancy On Track Recruitment.
A Sammons company statement said: “As well as achieving strong organic growth, the Group’s service offering is building from strength-to-strength through acquisition of businesses with shared values and a strong focus on customer service excellence.”
Brightred significantly deepens the Sammons service provision in the key IT sector, and On Track brings on board a successful recruitment team in “an attractive geography”, the statement said.
Sammons now has over 30 staff based across the South-East. The two deals are part of a wider ‘buy and build’ that is underway at Sammons. Michael Allen, the previous owner of Brightred, has joined the group through this transaction.
As well assisting with the securing of funding, corporate finance specialists Shaw & Co advised Sammons on its overall acquisition strategy. Legal support was provided by Gaby Hardwicke, and accounting and tax support by Swindells.
The Sammons Recruitment Group was established in 1957 and was acquired from the founding family in late 2019 by father and daughter team Martyn and Harriet Smith. The group consists of:
- Sammons Recruitment Solutions, a generalist recruitment consultancy with offices in Hastings and Eastbourne, providing permanent, temporary and contract solutions across a variety of sectors, including professional services, local government and with a particular strength in SMEs.
- On Track Recruitment, which now extends the generalist offering.
- Sammons Pensions, which specialises in recruiting for the occupational pensions industry for all roles.
- Brightred Resourcing, providing skilled IT talent as both contractor and as permanent resource across technology areas including DevOps, project management, cloud, digitisation, cybersecurity, ERP and automation.
