NEW TO THE MARKET: 28 NOVEMBER-2 DECEMBER 2022

This week’s new launches include: Berry Recruitment, Deel, Revature, Sidetrade, WMCA, WorkYourWay

Berry Recruitment has launched a new app in Northampton, which the firm says enables users to find work in seconds. The app will be rolled out nationally but Northampton has been chosen as one of the first places to benefit. The tech is an extension of the town’s busy branch and means workers can take more control by choosing when and where they work. The recruitment firm provides full and part-time work in sectors including industrial, office, catering and driving – and it also provides staff for large events.

• Global payroll, compliance and hiring provider Deel has rebranded the Deel Partners programme, with its vision to become the app store for all things global hiring. The programme will include a partner network, clearer business incentives, improved onboarding and dedicated support, and a streamlined referrals process.

Revature, a tech talent enablement organisation, has announced that it has launched operations in the UK. Through its hire-train-deploy model, Revature UK will identify candidates with the attitude and aptitude to succeed in tech, pay them to undergo its proprietary 10–12-week training programme and then place these associates in tech positions at top employers across the UK. The first pathway will support university graduates, both in STEM and non-technical degrees. Next year, Revature UK plans to establish a non-graduate pathway to connect untapped talent that currently exists amongst A-level and T-level candidates with in-demand positions across the UK market.

• Order-to-cash platform Sidetrade has opened applications in Birmingham for its fourth Sidetrade Code Academy 2023, a free four-week coding course to address the digital skills shortage in the West Midlands. The academy provides employment opportunities after completing the course and welcomes a wide variety of levels including total beginners. Participants are invited to apply to the programme by Wednesday 14 December. An assessment day will take place in Birmingham on Friday 6 January 2023 and successful applicants will start the four-week course on Monday 16 January 2023 with one in-person day a week and four days remotely.

• The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has launched a training course in partnership with professional services firm Accenture to prepare young people for work and help them land apprenticeships that pay the real living wage. WMCA has invested £200k in the Path 2 Apprenticeship, which aims to unlock potential of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). The six-week training course will initially train 120 young people. Training will focus on meeting the skills needs of SMEs across the West Midlands.

• Flexible working job site WorkYourWay has launched to match people with flexible working roles across the globe. Dubbed ‘Tinder for Flex’, WorkYourWay is underpinned by a unique ‘flexibase’ algorithm that generates percentage scores for roles and candidates to help them to find their perfect flex match. The new site is the brainchild of Tim Grimes and Anna Whitehouse, and has been designed to help companies fill roles that are sitting empty by bringing to life the flexible working policy that underpins every company and every role across all industries.
