Janeace (Jay-T) Thompson promoted to director of talent at PRS for Music

Music collective management organisation PRS for Music has announced that Janeace (Jay-T) Thompson (pictured) has been promoted to director of talent, culture and experience.

Reporting into chief people and transformation officer Suzanne Hughes, the newly created role is pivotal to the company’s plans to “support and deliver its strategic imperatives and continue its journey of change”, a company statement said.

Thompson joined PRS for Music in March 2022 as head of inclusion and employee experience, following a 20-plus years career as a talent acquisition manager and equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) strategist. Thompson’s previous roles include leadership positions at Louis Vuitton, The Gucci Group and JCDecaux.

Throughout her time at PRS for Music, Thompson has spearheaded the organisation’s progression around EDIB commitments in line with UK Music’s Ten-Point Plan and the recently launched The Five Ps: The Music Industry’s Action Plan. Acting as a strategic adviser with the goal of creating a more inclusive culture for all employees to thrive and grow, she has fostered an environment of learning, understanding and safety in sharing perspectives and experiences.

Thompson also sits on UK Music’s Diversity Taskforce and contributes to the development of a programme of activity for the Taskforce which include collectively improving equity, diversity and inclusion across the music industry workforce.

In addition to Thompson’s current remit, which covers talent acquisition, employee lifecycle, learning & development, and ownership of employee-led Diversity & Inclusion affinity groups, her role will focus on how PRS for Music promotes and delivers its EDIB agenda within the wider music industry.
