Legal consultancy DMJ merges with Briefed

Legal recruiter DMJ has announced its merger with Briefed, a barrister-led training, compliance and technology business.

DMJ, founded in 2007, is one of London’s largest talent search firms placing governance and legal professionals in private practice and in-house roles.

The merger follows the recent acquisition of Briefed by Omni Partners, which acquired DMJ in July 2022. Briefed, founded in 2012 by experienced barrister and Northern Irish entrepreneur Orlagh Kelly, delivers bespoke business-focused advice and training on key employment and compliance legislation that helps organisations meet their regulatory requirements and increases employee effectiveness.

Steven Clark, founder of Omni Partners, said: “We see a real opportunity for the combined business to become the industry leader in providing full-service talent management that helps legal, corporate governance and compliance professionals match their talent with opportunities whilst supporting their professional development and growth at all stages of their career.”

Omni invests in mission-led, fast-growing and profitable businesses that are looking for their first external capital.
