CONTRACTS & DEALS: 20-24 JANUARY 2025

• Global recruitment technology company Employment Hero has announced the acquisition of Canadian HR and payroll software provider Humi for AUS$112m (£56.9m), according to a statement from Humi. The acquisition is part of Australian-founded Employment Hero’s strategy to expand its presence in the North American market. Employment Hero connects and empowers more than 300,000 businesses across the world with a suite of employment features.
• Recruitment firm Job Solution Sweden has signed an agreement with MDR Invest AS to buy 55% of Norwegian recruitment and consulting firm Succedo for around NOK9m (£0.6m) on a debt-free basis. The debt-free deal means the purchase price excludes any liabilities Succedo may have and will be paid in cash. Over the next three years, Job Solution has the option to acquire the remaining 45% of shares, with a maximum of 15% purchasable per year. Additionally, the agreement stipulates that 100% of Succedo’s annual profits will go to Job Solution, which will partially fund the future share acquisition.
• Liquid Friday, a provider of contractor payroll and workforce solutions, has announced a partnership with mortgage broker Cleerly to enhance access to tailored mortgage options for contractors and self-employed individuals. This collaboration addresses long-standing challenges contractors face when navigating traditional mortgage processes, which often fail to account for their unique financial circumstances. The partnership allows Liquid Friday’s contractor community to benefit from Cleerly’s impartial advice, broad market access and track record of securing competitive mortgages for non-traditional earners.
• Workday has announced that Hull City Council has chosen Workday HCM and Workday Financial Management to streamline its HR and financial operations. Workday HCM will optimise HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding and talent management. It will also provide data-driven insights for strategic workforce planning and enhance the employee experience.
Workday Financial Management will give the council better control and visibility of its finances. The suite will simplify budgeting, procurement, and accounting, and enable data-driven decision-making to improve resource allocation. These changes aim to boost productivity and efficiency, allowing staff to focus on delivering better services to the residents of Hull.
