Carey joins Gi Group in Ireland to grow team

HR and recruitment specialist Gi Group in Ireland has appointed Richard Carey (pictured) principal consultant as part of a significant team growth plan.
“The high-profile hire marks a significant step in [our] investment strategy, laying the foundation for future expansion,” the company said in a press statement.
After recently acquiring longstanding temporary and permanent staffing supplier, Kelly Services Ireland, Gi Group Ireland is focusing on team development and expansion.
Following its recent acquisition, Gi Group Ireland aims to grow its team by 25% in the coming year.
According to Statistica, in 2024, 23% of Irish consumers did not trust AI to complete any activity in place of human interaction, which helps to show “the continued value of authentic, human customer service – especially the job of finding, placing and retaining the right people in the right roles - in Ireland”, the company statement said.
Operations director Ben Forde said: “Richard is part of our structured plan to replicate the success [at Cork] we have achieved at our Galway office. We have the capacity to support a team of 15 recruitment specialists in Cork, so our main focus for the coming months is to form and invest in this dynamic. Following our acquisition, it’s been very important to us that we drive innovation regionally so, Richard is the first step in this for us.”
