Life sciences executive search firm Bench International has acquired biotech, healthcare and pharma executive recruiter TRIOS Search Partners.
Phil Boyle, managing director of Southampton talent management firm The Ramsey Hall Group, has taken up the role of president of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Boyle remains in his role with Ramsey Hall, whose operations include significant focus on the aerospace and manufacturing areas. Boyle himself is a pilot and chartered engineer.

Employer confidence dipped slightly in April from a record high level in March, reveals the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s (REC’s) JobsOutlook survey, based on responses from 200 UK employers. It shows that 66% of firms are due to increase their use of permanent workers in the next three months, with only 6% predicting a slight decrease, and none foreseeing significant decreases.
Supermarket Sainsbury’s will hire 6,000 over the next year through a mixture of new stores and expansions. A spokesperson for the firm tells Recruiter that the average supermarket employs around 250 people in 35 different positions ranging from deputy managers to team leaders, category assistants, online managers and customer service advisors.
Final year university students are pushing hard to enter the job market after graduation, but the number of jobs available to them remains below pre-recession levels. This is according to two reports from High Fliers Research: the ‘UK Graduate Careers Survey 2012’ and ‘The Graduate Market in 2012’, based respectively on surveys of 17,737 final year student at 30 UK universities in March, and 100 top employers in December of last year.
