Global executive search and assessment firm Russell Reynolds Associates has announced that Clarke Murphy will succeed Matthew Wright as the firm’s president and chief executive.

Global executive search and assessment firm Russell Reynolds Associates has announced that Clarke Murphy will succeed Matthew Wright as the firm’s president and chief executive.

Murphy will take office on 2 April when Wright steps down from the role.With more than 24 years’ executive search and assessment experience, Murphy joined Russell Reynolds Associates in the US in 1988. In 1992, he moved to Frankfurt to help build the firm’s German business before moving to London a year later.

In 1998, he returned to New York and assumed leadership of the firm’s activities in the US and the Americas. He served on the firm’s elected executive committee from 1999 to 2002.

In 2007, he was appointed global leader of the CEO/board practice and has worked closely with colleagues in all regions to build the firm’s presence in the leading boardrooms of the world.

Wright says: “Having the right leader and leadership team remains a critical issue for organisations around the world and Clarke is among the foremost ambassadors of this message, having led our firm’s global CEO/board practice for the past five years.”

Murphy adds: “I am excited to be taking on the leadership of this dynamic firm and opening a new chapter in the firm’s history.
